MALTERNATIVE BELGIUM #28 LE VIGILANT TIFFON 1995 GC 40,86%
Hints of Jarnac
My last Tiffon was special, so this one can’t compete. But it seems quite promising. Almost 30yo and a surprising ABV. Let’s try this 1995 Grande Champagne!
Colour: Gold, green lights. Irregular medium tears.
Nose: Full of coconut powder and almond milk notes at first. Full of nutty scents. Fresh hazelnut, pecan, and dried walnut. Fresh wood shades, like sandalwood and cigarbox.
Palate: Ample creamy notes. A bit astringent in the aftertaste. Various woody shades. Shy aftertaste on cinnamon and vanilla aromas. Thin and fragile kind of Grande Champagne.
Last Notes: Bright heathery tones with air. Hints of fruity notes, mainly on young apricot. Delicate spiced scents. Back on the palate, you find some nice nutty notes again, but I miss a bit of structure and precision here.
Not the most expressive kind of GC. A bit disturbing to be honest.
My very subjective note: 87/100
