Swell de Spirits Tribot Lot 80 GC 56%

SWELL DE SPIRITS TRIBOT LOT 80 GC 56%

Unconventional GC

A very limited edition Grande Champagne (174 bottles) bottled by Swell de Spirits at 56%. Let’s go!

Colour: Amber, gold lights. Irregular heavy tears.

Nose: Sharp citrus notes at first. Hints of salty shades. Varnished wood. Bright fruity scents in the background, mainly on quince marmalade. Nice honeyed tones. Charming nose, maybe a tad too oaky but hopefully air will help that.

Palate: High acidity kind of GC. You get an unusual mix of roasted chocolate notes and fresh tea-ish notes. A bit rounder in the mouth length, as you get warm spiced aromas, mainly vanilla and cinnamon.

Last Notes: Meditation cognac. Verbena infusion, green chartreuse, cardamom. Hints of sandalwood notes too. Disturbing palate, a bit imprecise too, to be honest.

I did not expect that kind of cognac. Complex with a unique profile, but I miss depth and precision (and maybe a bit of fun) to score it above 88.

My very subjective note: 86/100
