A very limited edition Grande Champagne (200 bottles) bottled by Swell de Spirits at cask strength (65%). Let’s go!

Colour: Dark amber, orange lights. Irregular heavy tears.  

Nose: Quite an austere nose at first. Ample woody notes on linseed oil. Wet undergrowth and ginger beer. Dark spiced notes on clove and roasted black pepper. Quite a vegetal profile too, with different kinds of earthy scents.

Palate: Oily texture. Full of tropical fruit notes, quite unexpected regarding the nose. Banana stew, roasted pineapple. Plum liquor aromas in the background. Great mouth length provided by the ridiculous ABV (65%, 1980…). Nice aftertaste on roasted coffee beans and hazelnut cream. 

Last Notes: Dark tea-ish scents melted to burn wood shades. Hints of wine peach notes, but the fruity side is more shy than in the beginning. A tad of leathery perfume too. And there you go! Full of acidulous shades with air. Tropical fruit notes again. 

Another dark profile from Tribot and bottled by Swell de Spirits. Not the easiest to score. Austere nose, funky palate. Like the “light version”, maybe a tad too oaky.
