AN ARMAGNAC FROM MONTREAL

Colour : Old gold. Irregular  heavy tears.

Nose : Something like a sherry cask whisky but with a great freshness. Chestnut, almond, cherry syrup. Tannic scents too. Eucalyptus, orange zest. Citrus notes counterbalanced by a great butteriness. It’s seems to be a very round one. It ends old dusty wood and walnuts.

Palate : Dry texture, a little oily. At first, a pleasant bitterness on orange zest. A bit of acidity with olive oil, maybe linseed oil too. Fresh lemon juice. Young chestnut. It gets more acidulous on cider apple. The mouth is medium long. Sweet vanilla touch in the aftertaste.

Last Notes : A lot of spice and wood with more air. Freshly cut wood, cinnamon. It’s still very citrusy, more on orange and green lemon juice this time. A little of grapefruit zest too. Vanilla stick. Orange blossom. It ends on acacia honey, hazelnuts and praline aromas.

The first armagnac for Hors d’Age. A nice one, probably not the last !
